Redzone Weekly 2015 NFL Mock Draft 1.0

The new Redzone Weekly is here!

What do you guys think of the new design for Redzone Weekly. Some design/development issues are still being worked out, but I wanted to bring you guys a fresh new look, new content and overalll, a new start! What better way than to drop a new 2015 NFL Mock Draft 1.0.

To celebrate this occasion, Nick and I have put together our first NFL Mock Draft. Nick had the ODD picks and I had the Even picks.

*Disclaimer - Our intent was to have a different mock draft. A mock that you wont see anywhere else, but should still have valid points for each pick. Be sure to leave some comments at the bottom of the page!

Tampa Bay Bucs Logo 1. TB - Jameis Winston - QB

The Bucs needs a quarterback, so get the kid with a Florida fan base. I would say this is an easy pick, but with his off the field troubles, it's not.

Tennessee Titans Logo 2. TEN - Leonard Williams - DE

I know the talk is about Marcus Mariota, but I don't see any way you pass up on a player like Williams. He is a total Game Changer!

Jacksonville Jaguars Logo 3. JAC - Kevin White - WR

1st shocker of our mock, Kevin White at 3, but now you pair Marcus Lee and Allen Robinson with a young quarterback and let them grow together. Bye, Bye Blackmon...

Oakland Raiders Logo 4. OAK - Dante Fowler Jr. - OLB

Lots of needs for this team. A deep draft at wide receiver ultimately pushed me to take Fowler. Great off the edge and will help an improving defense.

Washington Redskins Logo 5. WAS - Brandon Scherff - OG

The Skins will take a page from a division foe and work on the offensive line. They need to get nasty up front and this is a great start.

New York Jets Logo 6. NYJ - Shane Ray - DE

New Head Coach Todd Bowles is a defensive guy. I think with his 1st pick as a NFL Head Coach, he sticks with what he knows.

Chicago Bears Logo 7. CHI - Vic Beasley - OLB

The Bears have a new defensive minded coach in John Fox and have switched to a 3-4 defense. Both of those mean this will be a defensive draft for Chicago. Beasley's main job will be to pin his ears back and get after the quarterbacks in the NFC North.

Atlanta Falcons Logo 8. ATL - Todd Gurly - RB

My biggest surprise pick of the draft is Todd Gurly going 8th overall. Atlanta needs major running help and Gurly is the best back to come out in a long time. It doesn't hurt to keep the Georgia boy in Georgia either. You heard it here!

New York Giants Logo 9. NYG - Bud Dupree - OLB

With JPP on the franchise tag the Giants need to grab another pass rusher. This may be a little high for Dupree, but when he is on his game, he could be one of the best in this years class.

10. STL - Amari Cooper - WR

I thought hard about Trae Waynes here, but the Rams need to give Nick Foles more targets. I personally believe that Cooper is the best receiver in this class, not by much though.

11. MIN - Devante Parker - WR

This pick is for Teddy Bridgewater. He gets his bestfriend in college and the Vikings get a great wide receiver to add to their group.

12. CLE - Marcus Mariota - QB

The talk of the off-season was between the Eagles and Cleveland and how to get Mariota to Philly. Bradford reportedly wont sign an extension if traded to Cleveland so that all but kills that story. Cleveland wins with a nice consolation prize in Mariota.

13. NO - Danny Shelton - NT

In this mock, the Saints waited and couldn't believe Shelton fail to them at 13. Shelton will be a huge help in the Saints 3-4 front and give them an anchor for years to come .

14. MIA - Trae Waynes - CB

Easiest pick of the draft for me. Miami needs a corner and Waynes is my favorite in this draft. His blazing 40-yard dash didn't hurt his stock either.

15. SF - La'el Collins - OT

The 49ers lost Mike Iupati to Arizona and I feel like Collins will slide to OG and fill that spot from day one.

16. HOU - Dorial Green-Beckham - WR

The Texans seemed to part a little to easily with a receiver who put the franchise on his back for many years. Andre Johnson is now a member of the Colts and the Texans need a replacement. DGB will become an immediate focus of this franchise.

17. SD - Ereck Flowers - OT

Rivers is getting up there in age and while the Chargers have good offensive tackles, I think Flowers will start his NFL career as an offensive guard and will help the struggling running game.

18. KC - Andrus Peat - OT

This would have been a receiver if Jeremy Maclin wouldn't have joined the team via free agency. That leaves the offensive line as the biggest risk and when you have one of the best runningbacks in the NFL, you make things easier for him.

19. CLE - Randy Gregory - OLB

Gregory would have been a top 10-15 pick, but his smoking may have scared some teams off. Cleveland will jump on him with this pick after getting Mariota with there 1st pick.

20. PHI - Marcus Peters - CB

I know most Eagles fans won't like this pick. I thought about Byron Jones and Eric Rowe, but ultimately decided that in this mock, the best corner in this class was available. I am also banking on Eric Rowe maybe slipping or Adrian Amos being available in the later rounds. I know, I know, the off-the-field stuff... Chip has a smoothie for that... - Jacob Brooks

21. CIN - Eric Kendricks - ILB

Eric is one the best linebackers in this draft. The Bengals will have a great backer' for many years.

22. PIT - Landon Collins - S

Troy Polamalu decided to retire. Pittsburgh likes to have big, physical safeties. Enter Landon Collins. The fit is almost too perfect.

23. DET - Melvin Gordon - RB

Reggie Bush is gone and while I know their defensive line is in shambles, this team is going to score a lot of points. I see them going defense heavy the rest of the draft . Gordon should take some pressure off of Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate.

24. ARZ - Arik Armstead - DE

This one was pretty easy too, Arizona needs defensive line help. Armstead is a freak and will add some versatility to their defense.

25. CAR - DJ Humphries - OT

Not many fans go into a draft saying "god hope we take an offensive tackle," well Panthers fans are. They did add Michael Oher and Jonathan Martin, but they need a young player to build around. - Nick Brown

26. BAL - Eli Harold - OLB

The Ravens have always been a physical team and now they need a new physical pass rusher. Eli Harold is a bit under the radar, but many consider him the most pure pass rusher in this draft. He should fit in nicely in Baltimore.

27. DAL - Eddie Goldman - DT

Dallas has put together the best offensive line in football. Now they look to do the same with their defensive line. They used a 2nd last yaer and added Greg Hardy. This team could be back in the playoffs.

28. DEN - Breshad Perriman - WR

It doesn't look like Wes Welker will be back with Denver. That won't be a problem when they draft Perriman. This guy blew up his pro day and hasn't looked back. Scary to think about how Manning can make use of this guy...

29. IND - Jalen Strong - WR

The Colts need to get Luck some weapons and Strong could be that weapon for him. Rumors around the league say that Strong has the best hands in this draft class. Andrew Luck will appreciate that.

30. GB - Benardrick McKinney - ILB

The Packers have a serious need at inside linebacker. I have McKinney rated as the best ILB in this draft and he will make a great compliment to Clay Matthews.

31. NO - Jalen Collins - CB

Saints go defense agian. They need a defensive back that can go toe-to-toe wtih the recievers in the NFC South. Collins and Brandon Browner could form one of the better back 7's in the NFC.

32. NE - Malcolm Brown - DT

New England is in a great spot, they can pick the best player available and at this point that player is Malcolm Brown. In our mock he slid a little bit but he will make a great tandem with Chandler Jones.

Thanks it, that wraps up our first official post on the new Redzone Weekly. Let us know how we did. What do you like? What don't you like and for good measures, how do you like the new site? Thanks!
